Whole Foods Shopping List

Whole cereals

  • 100% Whole wheat flour (we use a lot of wholemeal wheat flour - a big difference!)

  • 100% Whole wheat or whole grain bread

  • 100% Whole Wheat Pasta

  • 100% Whole wheat pita bread or bread (sprouted varieties are also great)

  • Amaranth

  • Barley

  • Brown rice

  • Buckwheat

  • Bulgur

  • Quinoa (technically a seed, but treated as a grain)

  • Chaudhry

  • Whole grain breakfast cereal such as Millet or Whole Grain Buckwheat Cereal

  • Wild rice

Canned / Jared Items

  • Canned beans

  • Coconut milk

  • Olive

  • Sun-dried tomatoes

  • Tomato sauce/tomato paste, no sugar added and a small amount of sodium added

  • Tuna

  • Sugar-free fruit

  • No vegetables or chicken broth/juice, sugar or dextrose added and little added sodium (Orvital Organic Chicken Broth 500 ml)

  • Do not forget to buy acidic products such as tomatoes or pineapples in glass jars whenever possible.
